Why isn't suicide accepted as divorce is?

I think lots of people get divorced because it is socially acceptable. And it is socially acceptable because so many people do it. And I think people get divorced because they don’t want to work through their problems. So why is suicide not socially acceptable? It’s the same thing right? The person doesn’t want to work through there problems so they just quit. In a marriage they don’t wan to work through their problems to they get a divorce. A divorce is like the suicide of marriage and its ok but suicide isn’t ok. Why is that? And people say suicide is the most cowardly selfish thing to do. If divorce and suicide are like the same thing why don’t people say divorce is the most cowardly selfish thing to do? I don’t mean like if you get divorced you die. I am wondering why divorce is socially acceptable and suicide is not when if you look at the big picture both things ended for the same reason; the people didn’t work through their problems.

Death is far more of a big deal than someone just being 'absent'. Theres something quite final about it. Imagine a mother of 4 young children who is unhappy in her marriage. Divorcing her husband and moving to another state is hardly comparable to her offing herself and leaving the kids without a mother.

Divorce is no where near suicide. You can't even compare them.

Divorce is a result of you not working it out with another person.
Suicide is a result of you not working it out with yourself.

marriage is hardly the same thing as life...
the end to marriage is the end to a contract between two people, but the end to life, is the end to everything for a person... you can get married again, but you cant live again...

I think suicide isnt acceptable because people fear death, its the fear of unknown (I mean divorce at the most means you're alone... most people have been alone at some point in their lives...) people fear this unknown more than anything else... so they dont accept it...
