I mean, if an animal has sharp teeth...it's pretty obvious they are carniverous.
they also study the fossilized poo, I think they are called coprolite's- or something similar to that. some fossilized dinosaurs have had fossilized skin and internal organs- so by chipping through those fossilized organs they can see what that dinosaur was eating.
yea...scientists checked they're teeth and body structure...also anything else that was fossiliaed around them...and checked anthing else around them...check out the discovery channel website

bones, and were certain parts of there bones are,
to determine if it was a meat eater or not
