Did you know it costs less to...

Moj 'n' me Asked by phrannie about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

...have your dog neutered or spayed, then it does to bring a batch of HEALTHY (heavy on the healthy) puppies into world...??? I see 3 to 5 litters of unplanned puppies on this site every week...that's 15 to 20 potentially unwanted dogs a week...60 to 80...

a month...and 700 to 1000 a year...and that's just the people on THIS site! Is it any wonder the shelters are killing millions every year!

Free spay and neuter clinics are offered by the Sam Simon Foundation. Google it.

Yeah its sad.
I know when we got our dog from the pound we payed for her to get neutered and they also gave her the needles she needed for free which was a bonus for us. People think that just because there isn't another dog in the house that they don't need to get them fixed, which is wrong because they could run off and come home pregnant.

It is sad, and I work around all this everyday, Even if you only have one dog, getting them fixed is a lot cheaper and easier mentally than watching them go through prostate cancer, or herniation of the uterus, these are just a few of the things that fixing your pet at a young age can avoid! Be cautious of cheap spay shuttles, Working where I work I see a lot of the post op patients in the emergency clinic because something went wrong! Yes these organizations are a great thought but all I am saying is do your research first! make sure there are no lawsuits pending on the Vet you are going to be going to! Because a $25 neuter or a $50 spay can easily turn into $2000 or more in emergency Vet Bills, if you get a Vet that don't know what they are doing!
