Did i hear that right?

Moj 'n' me Asked by phrannie about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

Did Biden really say...“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'”

This wouldn't have been sooo completely...

hilarious, if it hadn't followed a statement that we have to get our history lessons right.

isnt it partly correct? I think the only part that is downright wrong was the television part. im not sure whats so good, or bad, about this statement

None of it is true. He really goofed on this one. But it was harmless.

Besides there not being television in 1929, FDR wasn't even elected unti 1932. Hoover was president at the time.

leevan - FDR wasn't president when the market crashed. Yep, what a goof.
They did a funny piece on the Daily Show about it.

It was far from and end of the world statement...but it certainly was a good laugh...I keep wondering, when did someone tell him of his goof? I wonder what he said?...LOL...
