It is possible that you fried the motherboard but not likely. I know lots of people who take no ESD precautions yet never had a problem. Of course you should use an anti-static workstation for this type of work.
Go back in and unplug and reseat the memory and all the cables and cards and try again.
Answer this Question: "Did I fry the motherboard?"

Did I fry the motherboard?
Tonight I was putting a DVD-RW drive and extra Hard Drive into my sister's computer while she is on vacation. It was going to be a surprise/ late birthday present.
Anyway, I had everything hooked up and the computer was on. I checked out the new hardware and the comp. recognized it and it worked. Then I powered down, unplugged it and screwed the Hardware into place. in order to make it fit, I had to unplug some cables going into the motherboard. I plugged everything back in, Powered on and nothing came up on the monitor.
The computer just beeps 3 times. I may have touched the motherboard..would this fry it? Does anyone know what the beeps mean?
I feel bad about my sisters computer and need to fix it soon.
