Desperate housewives, what's the deal?

I was wondering what the deal was with Desperate Housewives??? Are they discontinuing the show because I thought it was weird that on the season finale, they had a 5 years later scene. So whats the deal? Also, whats Kayla's relationship with her mom?...

I missed a few episodes and I am wondering why she pulled that child abuse thing and why she moved away. Thanks in advance!!

Well after the tornado they fast forwarded 5 years to the future, but it says they're going to be showing what happened in the 5 years that passed. And I'm not really happy with what happened 5 years later -_-

Scavo's clan), the characters Danielle, Dylan and Julie, will not be returning to Wisteria Lane, and the fate of Mike Delfino is still up in the air. However, the final episode of the fourth season, set five years in the future, saw Susan arriving home from a poker night and kissing another man. The man is played by Gale Harold.

As for Kayla, she's never liked Lynette, (much like her mother), she viewed her as competition... in one of the episodes she manipulated the twins into burning down rick's pizza place, and in another episode she encouraged them to jump and fly... she admitted this to lynette, who sent her to therapy. In therapy she told her doctor Lynette was abusing her. When the social workers got involved, she burnt herself and told them it was Lynette. Lynette was arrested, but Tom got a confession from Kayla, and the therapist heard it. So Lynette was freed and Kayla was sent to her grandparents...
