No one can diagnose you on this site (even if they were a professional it just isnt something you do online). You need to talk to a doctor. Also other factors need to be taken into account like how long it lasts, previous episodes, severity etc...

However, a little bit about the two mood disorders... a major depressive episode is when you have depressed mood, loss of interest or pleasure and meet five of the nine criteria in the DSM for two weeks:

I.depressed mood most of the day
I.markedly diminished interest or pleasure in activities
iii.significant weight change
I've.insomnia or hypersomnia
v.psychomotor agitation or retardation
vifatigue or loss of energy
vii.feelings of worthlessness or inappropriate guilt
viii.diminished ability to think or concentrate
ix.recurrent thoughts of death (not just fear of dying), recurrent suicidal ideation without a specific plan, or a suicide attempt or a specific plan for committing suicide

Other symptoms may include: sad, anxious or empty mood, weight change, sleeping too much or too little, restlessness or irritability, feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, pessimism, difficulty thinking, concentrating, remembering or making decisions, thoughts of death or suicide or attempts at suicide, decreased energy, fatigue, feeling slowed down or sluggish, persistent physical symptoms

To be bipolar you have to have manic episodes (dramatic elevation in mood, rise in energy, and reckless behavior) in addition to depressive episodes.

Go to a doctor. Your symptoms could have a physical cause (like an underworking thyroid) or it could be something else physical. If it isn't you may need to see a therapist.

I am bi-polar. Apparently I have been for decades. With me I was depressed 99% of the time, then I would get this real elated feeling and and be able to do almost super human feats. For instance when I was about 28 I workded in a dry cleaning outfit for a summer. They had a contract with the military and were three weeks behind in packaging the clothes. The process was to take a hanger of clothes with your left hand and put on a stantion, pull down the plastic covering over the clothes, remove the plastic from the roll and pick up the newly covered hanger and place in on another rack on the right. I did this once every four seconds for 12 hours a day, non-stop except for a 15 min. break in the morning, a 1/2 hr lunch break and a 15 min. break in the afternoon. The other employees would not talk to me, they thought I was an alien. I did this for several weeks, until they were ahead of schedule. Then I would go into this deep depression, didnt want to do anything but drink.
Just a few years ago I was put on some really powerful drugs that kept me lethargic all of the time. After a year of this I refused to take them anymore and by chance noticed that sunshine and tanning in the winter kept me from feeling depressed, especially in the winter when it really hit me hard. I think those drugs, as horrible as they were, triggered my body to make the necessary chemical needed to counteract the depression. I still get bummed out once in a while, but it is short lived, a day or so.
