An important distinction needs to be made here (besides making a note of the correct spelling of deodorant, folks) -- deodorant is not the same thing as antiperspirant.

While both are products to try and eliminate the odor of underarm sweat, one merely uses perfumes to mark the scent while another works to prevent sweat from happening in the first place.

In your case, obviously, you're looking for deodorant, not antiperspirant. If you've tried over-the-counter products to no avail, there are plenty of stronger products that your doc can prescribe for you.

I know this must be SO embarresing...I really understand that. so nip down to your doctors, it's a common problem, and they can give you some deodrant on prescription that will work well.

you can't wear a jacket to hide it, it'll make it worse...honestly, there's nothing to be embarresed about, your doc will have seen it a 100 times already this summer!

Yes sooitca is correct! but also you can carry a bottle of baby wipes with baby powder... every so often go to the restroom and wipe your arm pits with the baby wipes to remove any sweat and then place some baby powder on a napkin and powder your arm pits! that will help with the persperation! But sooitca has the best advice!

Have you tried the clinical strength deoderant by Secret or Dove?

Me Answered by beautyspeaks on Aug 04, 2008, 02:25PM

sooitca is right...it could just be a gland problem...a girlfriend I know suffered the same thing. try mitchum first before getting the prescription. you can get it from CVS, walgreens, rite-aide, whatever. And mitchum is pretty strong...you can normally go a couple of days without reapplying...

use dove anti persperant it literally makes you stop sweating completely..or men's deotarant because that usually works too...the degree ultra clear :D and then just wear a sweet smelling GIRL perfume to make the men smell go away happy

you should try cutting holes in the armpit area of your shirts. that should let some airflow in and dry the sweat right up.

Incidentally, I'm the same way. Anything more than 74 degrees, and I'm dripping more than Michael Moore on a treadmill. I got sick of going to the pharmacy for bloody antiperspirant, though, so I just got zen with it.

Now you can see me squishing down the streets of Manhattan in the summer, not giving a crap that I'm leaving puddles everywhere I go. High school, though, that's another story. You don't want to give people that kind of nickname ammunition.

You need an anti-perspirant NOT a deodorant.

Michael Moore on a treadmill...lol.

I always had that problem, using Dove brand anything. I think I was allergic to it.. but I now use Teen Spirit and it's the best thing I've ever done! Even when I'm working out and sweating like crazy, my pits stay dry! :P

happy

I dont even have to be doing anything to sweat,
