Dead space: a good 360 game?

I was thinking about buying Dead Space [for the 360]
for a friend as a Christmas gift.

I don't know much about the game... at all.
I haven't even heard of it until he mentioned the game to me.

Awesome. It's most likely the scariest game ever made. Now, I'm a serious horror critic; I've seen movies other people described as scary as hell, and didn't get so much as a jolt out of it. But Dead Space is different. You BECOME the character. You fear what he fears. The game has true surround sound, so if it's hooked up to a surround sound unit, it's even better. The audio is what makes the game so scary. When you're walking slowly down a poorly lit hallway, the groans of metal in the distance, gentle thumps of your boots on the steel, screams in the distance suddenly cut short, the hum of machinery... and then a sudden, horrifying shriek from directly behind you- you spin around, there's nothing there but shadows and blood.

Sorry to ramble on, but if your friend is a fan of the horror genre, then this is the game to get.
