As much as I'd like to help, I can't. Dream interpretation wasn't on my college to do list.
How soon into falling asleep do you start having these dreams? If it's right after you lay your head down or after the alarm starts waking you up you can actually control your dreams (as you may already know). If it's at either of the these times try standing back and letting them die and see what happens. If it's during REM then All you can really do is watch, unfortunately.
Sounds crazy, I know but hey...best answer I, personally, can think of.
In my psychology class some century so ago, the proffessor advised that dreams truely have no great interpretation. But that the brain goes mildly insane for it's good health. I don't think you can interpret the things that happen in your dreams, but as the gentleman prior advised you can control those that occur outside of REM (rapid eye movement) when you are in your deepest of sleep. And the old adage that if you die in your dream it will kill you in your sleep is false. I've fallen off of a cliff a number of times and hit bottom on three occasions, and since I do not believe in the traditional ghost concept, I must still be here typing.
I feel all dreams leads one to answers of the unconsciousness. it's only when one realizes that they are receiving messesges from the above thru certain details and animals of life that they can truly believe the lord is giving them a guide to adhere to him on a spiriritual level. with out the lord we can not at all understand the mystic of the worldl and the dreams.

Why do I have dreams about dead fish??
I mean seriously, what do they mean??
I dream that my fish/frogs are dead or I'm helping to save them even though I don't own any currently.Or that I accidently step on one. Or that I'm in the tank fighting off...
