However, there must be a place where you can take a laptop for repairs.
There you can buy a new hard drive and have them either copy the existing drive to over minus any file that you think could be causing the problem. Or...

Have the repair shop copy everything to a DVD or flash drive.
Then do a format and reinstall of all your software from the original disks.
Then you can use the files from the DVD or flash drive to re-load your personal data.

However, it went unstable for a reason. Make sure that your antiviral, anti spyware software is current and up-to-date. Do that before you copy anything off of the DVD or flash.
