well just did this myself last night. the pain wasnt that bad but on a scale of 1-10 I would say about a four. what I did was I bought a pack of 70 sewing needles and got the thickest needle. then I sterilized everything in warm hydrogen peroxide and alcohol.
after that I cut a small sclice of potato. then I numbed my ear with an ice pack for about 15 mins. then I took the sterlized needle put the potato to the back of my ear so it would stablize the needle. and poked it through. the only part I noticed was the pop as the needle went through the last layer of skin.
*important when you push the needle through dont pull it back out just push it completly through and follow with your earring. repeat on other side.
afterwards your lobes will be a little swollen and sore. just put ice on them to stop swelling. and clean it about 3 times a day with warm hydrogen peroxide.
also important if you have long hair make sure you wear it up so your hair doesnt get caught in your piercing.
and to the other people I did NOT get an infection from this its safe as long as everything is clean.
hope everything works out for you because it did for me
You should never pierce your body on your own. any part. this could be extremely dangrous. Professionals go to a special school for piercing for a reason; because it can be dangerous. Just peircing your ears on your own could result in infections and keloids. Not to mention the horrible scarring that you can get from not using the correct tools and/or techniques.
Go to a professional. if you can't afford it, it's not needed right now anyways
