Why is d12 called d12?

Ok does any one know why D12 is called D12 because there's only 3 or 4 people in there ???

Dirty dozen. Before Proof was killed, there were six of them. They each have their 'stage names' and their normal names. For example, there's Marshal Mathers and his stage name is Eminem. Since each of them have two names, they feel that they have two different personalities each as well. Hence, D12. Dirty motha-f*ckin' dozen.

I watched a show about D12 a few years ago and learned all of that.

who knows? it's odd, maybe they just picked a number,
and they just picked 12?!
