How can i stop cutting myself?

I cut myself and I need to stop. everyone tells me to but I can't everything is wrong in my life and it is all my fault I need help what do I do?

hey alright i have been through this before but i went to counselling for it and that just made it worse but im telling you now the best way to do this is to throw away everything u use to cut your self and my guess is mabe you get b!tched at when you know your not supposed to or mabe a guy/girl broke your heart or something well you know what i did and it helps a little bit... i threw everything away right .. then i made a bunch of files inside files that sound like computer sh!t so no one looks in it and inside one of the files i have my own little file where i save like a diary kind of thing... so what i do is when i get p!ssed off or upset i just vent it all out and save it in my secret file and i feel better then mabe one day youll look back on them and realize how stupid it was to over react like that

You must seek help in finding other ways to cope....see your Doctor to outline a recovery plan and get support....you can do it....you'll be in my thoughts and prayers....Funmail me if you need someone to talk to ok ?

Cutting may be an indicator of depression and / or other psychological problems. Therapy and skills training can be very useful for those who self-injure. The therapy module used will vary depending on the person's diagnosis and their individual needs.

Yes, seeing a counsellor is going to help. They are well prepared to deal with your situation. Cutting is like a bad habit. With habits you replace on with another. So until you see a professional there are some things that are proven to work. Wear an elastic around your wrist or ankle...when the urge comes to cut snap the rubber band. The urge passes much like the urge to have a cigarette with people who are trying to quit. Rubbing your feet hard across a rug. The important thing is to tell 3 people who you can trust and one of them should be an adult who can make sure that you are always supervised and all cutting material is removed.

seeing conserls will not help okay i used to cut but have not for a month and 2 weeks listen carefully step one thow away anything u would use to cut okay step two if somthing is bugging u keep a journal or talk to some good friends or do somthing u love to do besides cutting step 3 reward your self when u can go more then a week without cutting step four keep track of your progges step five do not listen to deppresing songs step six take up a new hobbie if doesnt work let me know okay!!

They say that cutters cut on themselves to bring out and release pain they are feeling inside about other things. It feels good to get it out, watch it bleed, watch it heal. As it heals, it feels as if the problem that caused has also gone away. I got that from a movie, but it seemed to make sense.

I never had this problem and I imagine it's an addiction like anything else. The difference here is that you are finding a drastic way to express yourself, your pain, your feelings. But also, by cutting yourself, you are not really releasing the pain--you're still keeping it to yourself, inflicting it upon yourself.

So the next time you feel like cutting, grit your teeth, walk away, take a few deep breaths. Instead of picking up a sharp object, pick up a paintbrush and paint your feelings. Or write them down, or play an instrument. Your pain must release, it must be heard and given a voice in order for anyone to help or understand you.

So stop punishing yourself and give your pain a voice. A strong, expressive, artistic voice. You can do this.

to stop doing this you need to look a life really hard. look at those that tell you to stop doing it. they love you and they care bout u. u need to motivate yourself and keep yourself away from something sharp..what i did was that i wrote my emotions down into emo poems and that killed most of the need to cut. you can also punch a pillow or somthing soft really bad but the need of cutting youself will be hard to avoid. the best way to kill that need is to find true love. thats the best cure.

Oh. I've been there. Trust me all i can say : Worthless. I've cut myself before coz i thought it can take away my problems. Talk to your friends. Parents.Anything.
Coz its unhealthy.
it can get you to be put on an mental asylum.
If things are getting desparate . that means tell your parents
they'll seek you a counselor or psychologist or something.

okay, well heres how I did, first I threw everything awasy and when I wanted to do it, then I would either, snap a rubber band so I didn't, go for a walk or run to get my mind off of it, draw or write to stop thinking. and when it was all said and done I felt so much better and so will you. if you need more help go see soomeone a school consouler, a thripist, something. get better. no need to die over a broken heart.
