you can get your hair permanetly straightenend at the beauty shop.
of course it's not really permanent like a perm.
you'll have to get it annualy redone..
but it really minimizes the curls without all the breakage from a straightener.

There are other ways to get your hair straight. There are relaxers for people with course, curly here. Or there is also thermal straightening, for others who don't have course hair. Using relaxers are less expensive than thermal, but both can do damage to your hair. You could do Japanese straightening, but you have to make sure that you find a person that specializes in it, and is experienced. There aren't many people who do it, and it could get expensive. The best Japanese Straightening System is Liscio, and the second is Yuko. Some salons have really good shampoos and conditioners that make it easier, for you to straighten your hair with a straighter, as long as you have a good one. As well as lessen the damage.

I have very thick, curly hair. And it does take a long time for me to straighten it. When I was younger I hated my hair, but as I got older learned to love it. I loved the fact that I could change it whenever I wanted to, and do a lot more things than others could. Make sure it's what you really want. But be sure you understand the damage it could do to your hair, how much it is, the importance of getting someone experienced, and that its permanent.
