Cps stuff

Beautiful sky Asked by helpangl about 1 year ago, 7 answers.

So what I want to ask you is.

Should CPS be allowed to do whatever they want? Why is it that they have more say so in our children's lives than we do? And why is what they say law even if it is a lie?

Unsubstantiated proof, lack of evidence,...

heresay, and lies seem to make up this organization and we trust them with the safety of our children?

first of all they are not cops and they are here to protect your kids cause you know some people cant take care of their kids and thats why there is cps
and they cant do whatever they want if something gets called in their job is to go to that house and to make sure that everything and if they think that something is wrong then they have the right to do whats best for the child not the parent

Dear chaoticrevalation,
In Canada our children protective services are called Children's Aid Services. I have dealt with them for many years through my work. As a family worker we rely on CAS to be the voice for children. Since our society fails the young people in teaching parenting skills the children are the ones who suffer (at times) at the hands of inexperienced parents. So there is a need for them to have a voice. Since children are our treasures, our future we must protect them and keep them safe. CAS will not intervene unless there is suspicion...much as a police officer needs suspicion for a search warrant. It isn't a random procedure. Do we not wish they do error on the side of caution? If one is investigated it was through a situation and not random, and one who has nothing to hide, hides nothing. At time it may seem they are overly sensitive but it is in fear that they miss the children who truly are abused. If you do know someone who has been investigated, as stated it was due to a report of some type. Unless they investigate how are they to determine the truth? Of course along the way there are false allegations as in everything but again how are they to determine unless they do check it out??? It takes a whole village to raise a child and those who have nothing to hide are very grateful for their services.
Sue...good luck

Yeah but aren't they just as bad? Think about this situation if you will. IF you are a part of this organization. You have to ASSUME THE WORST. even if the worst hasn't happened. My friend, whom I have known for several years, had her daughter taken away. She was learning how to walk in the upstairs bedroom with her mother. She walked a little and fell. She was ok and then she said toy and she went to go get her toy, she turns around and she is at the stairs and falls down the stairs. I was getting a drink downstairs I heard a scream and she landed at the bottom the stairs. She was bumped up and bruised but she was alright. no brain damage no nothing. just bumps and bruises.

CPS steps in and decides that she beat the hell out of her child.

So thats the voice of the child? No wrong doing at all and the VOICE OF THE CHILD takes away the child of a perfectly fine parent. Where is the justification in that? It could have happened to anyone.

She hasn't seen her child in a year because of a vindictive case worker named shana who doesn't believe she deserves the child back and under her terms she'll never get her back. It isn't fair to her and it isn't fair to the child.

Some voice for the child.

yes, there would have to be more to this story...I'm sorry for her situation but they do not take a child out of the home for falling. Even falling down stairs. Their motive is to leave the child in the home and do counselling and have a worker come in even in some extreme cases. There had to be previous reports/suspicions. You see they also are accountable and have a very strict protocol to adhere to as well. I don't think people realize that they have to have a strong proof before taking a child out of the home. Sure they make mistakes so do the judges, police and anyone who are in charge of others. Could it have been a mistake...sure.
