I don't think its all that important but yes it helps bring the two people closer than before. To me the main aspect of a relationship is communication. How can you have great sex...by telling your partner exactly what you like and don't like during sex. Also when you're old and gray can you still have sex (that is naturally)? What else will an old couple have to go on...communication...If you see where I'm coming from.
So again yes it is important but not the main thing.

it all depends on your feelings towards sex
becasue there are people who can live without it or dont like it
if you have a paretner who feels the same way then sex doesnt get in the way or your other feelings
but with most relationships, usually trust, ohnest, love, ect comes first...and then they move on to the sex stuff
so for majority of the people it will be important
but for a smaller minority of people it isnt
u could live w/o it, but it does relieve stress and can cure a headache :P
sex is important but if your realationship isnt strong it can cause problems
