I was wondering if someone could help me get myy story straight...Adam and Eve were or were not the only people alive until they had their sons? and is it true that they supposedly only had 2 SONS? I heard there was another tribe on Earth, but if that is true doesnt the whole adam and eve thing not really hold its grounds as far as refuting homosexuality? (please be nice, I just wanted to see what people think)

actually adam and eve didn't just have two sons they had fifty-six children but the Bible only mentions Cain,Abel, and Seth. and nobody came from abel because Cain killed him. and ya since they were the only people on earth they had to marry each other and that's how all of us came to be here today.

Ya, I realized that too. If you think about it, if they only had 2 sons and there was no one else there, then you know what that means...eeeww!

No it is said that there were other life forms on earth. Its in the bible. My mom has explained it to me before. It sounded more legit when she told me.

well the catechised person would tell you that any Genesis story is to be taken figuratively. those stories were used to make a point, the adam and eve story being about original sin and the cain and abel story being about how that is carried on.

well your answer depends on who you talk to about it
about every religion has their story about how human life cam to be

and then there's science and their side of beginning of life

lol just try not to get too much into this subject because you'll get a bunch of answer and you'll get confused

if you look in the books of Josephus(not in any Bible but an actual book) he'll have stuff in there about it because he was a historian back then

It's my opinion that Adam and Eve were the first 'truly human' beings, in that they had a relationship with God, but that there were other 'nearly human' beings around for their sons to marry. And then their children were 'really human' too, so there you go.

Does this mean we are all the product of inbreeders. . . . . . .

Sorry I couldn't help myself.

basically it means brother married sister and v/v so a kids dad would be a dad/uncle and then those children married their cousins or sibling and this went on for who knows how long and this is, like I said before how we all came to be here today. so in a way because of this we're all kinda like distant cousins if you want to look at it that way

Yeah... stupid theory huh? And if inbreeding DIDN'T cause birth defects and general intellectual defecation back then, WHY DOES IT NOW?

BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THAT WAY

ADAM AND EVE COULD NEVER HAVE HAD FIFTY SIX CHILDREN.
It takes 10 months to become pregnant, have a baby and then become fertile again. So that means that if Eve had had all those children continually, she would have been able to have children for nearly fifty years, which is very rare and improbable.
Also, women are only fertile for an average of 13 to 15 days a year, because of their menstrual cycles, which makes this random undocumented fact that 'irishtomboy' came up with is even more likely to be untrue.
So yes,, from a Christian point of veiw we are all the product of incest and inbreeding.
Which is why evolution seems much more probable, dontcha think?

actually it was possible for her to have that many children because for one thing they lived a LOT longer than we do today because while our life span is somewhere around a hundred they,I kid you not, lived up to 900 years(and if you don't believe me on that look in Genesis5:5 and it'll tell you how old Adam was when he died). Another thing is if she only had two sons then how are we here today? because remember it takes a man and a woman to have a baby not a man and a man.

He had indeed many other children, but Seth in particular. As for the rest,it would be tedious to name them.-The New Complete Works Of Josephus page 52 paragraph 68

The number of Adam's children, as says the old tradition, was thirty-three sons and twenty-three daughters. page 53 33+23=56

Adam and Eve had at least three sons, and they did have daughters, too. The Bible doesn't mention all the details. Back then, you could marry your sister. It was perfectly acceptable and normal until God said that we weren't supposed to anymore.

Well, that would contradict the idea of God being 'infallible'

Adam and eve are ficticious characters in the bible that religous groups use to describe =why we are here and also to give an excuse to sins and evil.

In fact the bible can't even explain the mistake which they have made in the adam and eve story. My point of view is that all human on earth are all related to Adam and eve as they only got two sons.
