Could the screen make you go blind?

Is it Possible that you could go blind by sitting in front of the computer just about every day for hours starring at the computer screen?
I do, but I once read that you should take 20 second breaks by looking away from the screen to reduce the risk of...

What do you think? I DO know that it can keep you from good sleep most the time. It's a no wonder. At night , by starring directly into the Vivid screen it tricks your brain into thinking its still daylight and you struggle to get to sleep cause your brain is having a hard time trying to get around the idea that it IS night time.

I don't know about going blind but I did eventually have to get glasses

Nah, been doing it since I was 13, still 20/20 and what they tell me I have is night eyes from some surgery I had when I was a toddler, according to my eye-doctor I can see 20% better at night then most people, only a 3% margin in the worlds population have it, but it also hurts my eyes more in the day, although, it's a fair trade I believe, I can see fine in the day, and better than anyone I know in the night

So I really doubt it. Itmight temp blur your visio0n to to strain but I doubt you cuold go blind.

Hmm, I don't think you could go blind just by sitting in front of the computer screen.
It's possible that your vision could get blurry so that's why you should be careful. But, I don't think you'll go blind from being in front of the computer screen too long.
