What do contractions feel like? And how long do they last? Be specific please...

They feel like severe menstrual cramps and get worse as your labour progresses...the duration depends on how far along you are in labour, but the average is about a minute or two.

For me it was like a huge elastic band tightening around my pelvis. I celebrated thinking, hey, this isn't too bad.. I can get through these... however, lol Ichi is right, they get gradually worse throughout the labour.

If you think you're having early labor you need to call your doctor, preterm labor is never good, you would be 6 weeks early!! Your baby will be very small. You may just be experiencing braxton hicks though.
