Confused once again...

Well, I'm using windows vista, and im not a pro on it.
I've plugged in my headphones which have a microphone attatched to it, and I cant find the setting to get the microphone to come through the headphones to hear myself. Any ideas?

them it some program called IDT Audio pops up automatically.
Have no idea how to use it!

IDT Audio you can either uninstall if you dont use it or just leave it as is and let it keep bugging you :P My computer had some weird software on it I just got rid of it, sound still works fine for me.
Right click the little volume control on bottom left (taskbar) and click recording devices, select appropriate line, and either somewhere in Configure or Properties there should be a testing thing. I only ever used a microphone once so I cant really remember
