Confused about pain in earlobe

Asked by elana523 about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

Hey, about 4 weeks ago I got another hole in each earlobe. my left ear has been having some pain in the new hole for about a few days now. It's weird because it shows no signs of infection, it's not red, and its only painful when I touch it or the area...

around it. my theory is that I might have tugged on it when I was sleeping, either by getting it caught in a pillow, or just sleeping on it, and maybe the hole got bigger and its just irritated. Anyone have any ideas why it hurts?

Do you mean you've had 2nd lobe piercings? These are actually more painful than 1st lobe piercings so it's not unusual that you're experiencing pain. The further up the helix you pierce, the more pain will be felt, usually.
I know of many people who have complained about the strong pain in their 2nd lobe piercings. There must tougher cartilage there.
If the pain doesn't ease after a few weeks, go back and talk to your piercer. (:

like you said you probably tugged at it during your sleep or it could be an infection if it still hurts in a couple of days go back to the place you got it pierced or go to the doctor. There is a reason why it is hurting and we just can't figure it out
