Conch & snug piercings

Who ever has gotten their conch or snug pirced, does it hurtt?

Answer #1

I got my conch pierced November 7th 09. It hurt SO bad when they did it and the sound was gross. It still hurts, even now, and I’m usually really good with pain (I have 9 other piercings) But I would totally recommend getting it done. It will stop hurting eventually and it looks great. It’s really fun when people cringe when you show them ;)

It depends on you as a person and your pain tolerance. Although I have read about peoples experiences with these piercings and they do admit they hurt more than a typical cartilage piercing more example.

I desperately want a snug but have read so many stories about rejection, migration, pain and infection that I decided not to get it done. You may decide to go for it and if you do good luck! make sure to go to a reputable piercing salon and ask them for proof of certificates.

Got my Conch piercing done two days ago. The process was not that bad and didn’t hurt, but the popping noise was different. The cold weather made it hurt and throb really bad, but I lived through it. This next day, after the piercing hasn’t been too bad. The piercing does feel sore, and hurts real bad when bumped or touched. Most of my friends that have had it done told me that it will be really sore for awhile, or even a long time. As long as the pain doesn’t get any worse than it is now… Well worth it!!! After all, the conch looks pretty sweet :) ~Travis of Iowa 1/9/2010

I have my conch and snug done. Of course there is pain, but it’s not unbearable. Go for it its looks great :D

Answer #5

Yes. It hurt so so much. It still hurts sleeping on it 6 months later. I really would recommend you only get it if you LOVE it. For me it’s worth the hurt but if you don’t think it’s worth it then I wouldn’t get it. It does look SUPER friken cool.

Answer #6

not really. I haven’t gotten those but I have pierced my own ears 11 times with a surgical needle and I would chicken out more about piercing the wrong place than the pain. the pain is not bad at all. I have my nipples and my belly peierced professionally which didn’t hurt either and I pierced my nose myself when I was 15 with a regular needle which didn’t hurt either, it just took a long time. Plus, it depends on a person’s pain receptors. I don’t enjoy pain but I can take a lot of pain, I’m a pretty tough person I would say. Some people yell at the top of their lungs after a simple pinch, because they are more sensative. so, I guess it depends on your ability to withstand pain and your actual sensitivity. Remember, the needles are extremely sharp and the piercing is very quick, it should not hurt.

I Got My conch Pierced 2 weeks before christmas … it does hurt but not as much as people make out … it really hurts afterwars and it is really sore … but if you clean it well with salt water and antiseptic spray and dont fiddle with it it should heals well … I made the mistake of fiddling with it and not cleaning it as I should have, this lead to infection were I had to take ot out before I caused more problems xxx hope this helps

CONCH! I got my tragus and conch done at the same time, tragus didn’t hurt half as much as the conch in my opinion. I am reeeally satisfied with it though, it’s worth the discomfort for a few weeks (it also was hard to heal). Get your conch from a reputable place, as it is a lot more painful than a lobe piercing for example, and if someone doesn’t know what they’re doing, it will be a lot of unnecessary pain!

Answer #9

it really does depend on your pain tolerance. I have my contch pierced about six months ago. of course I got a ring put in. if you are considering getting this piercing, get it on the side that you dont sleep on. it is very painful and irritating. also keep in mind not to rotate it (crust can get inside). I have had my share of pain with that. the best thing to use for healing in H2 OCEAN. it really helps out when it swolllen, irritated, and down right painful. good luck

I got my snug pierced about 2 months ago. I’m usually fine with pain and in a sick way..I sort of like painful piercings. But this one hurt like no one’s business. Mine is tiny, so the piercer had a hard time getting the needle through. Once he did, the needle was too little and had to re-pierce it through with a bigger needle. Given, it was probably the first time he’s done that. But it’s such an awkward piece of cartilage, it can be tricky to pierce. Mine is still swollen and is still tender. I would only get it done if you’re dedicated to cleaning it.
