Typing...actual typing is the same...the keys are all in the same place as the manual typewriter I learned on eons ago...however there are extra keys on a computer that weren't necessary on a typewriter...Enter...all of the function keys, etc...keys that pertain only to computers.
Sure they'd be a back up (there have been times I've wished I still had one)...but boy would they be a S-L-O-W backup.

You can still get typewriters at Staples, maybe Office Max? For about 100-120 dollars. The only way that its different from typing on a computer keyboard is that there are some different keys in different places, but other than that the standard QWERTY system is used. A typewriter could be used as a backup if a computer crashes, but if the power is out you may be screwed, because typewrites sold nowadays run on electricity, and are like computers because they have screens and spell check.

Computers verses typewriters?
As the computer industry has grown, would they outdo typewriters? Or, are typewriters still in use?
What I'm trying to get at here, is, what's the difference between the way we type on the word processor compared to the typewriter? Also, are typewriters...
more expensive then computers? Or, are they just as expensive? If typewriters are still in use would they be a back up in case computers crash? I find this interesting since I've heard and read information on how typewriters were used before the computer keyboard.
This is just another random question.
