I had the same problem. After changing the battery, checking the cables, restarting the computer...I ended up buying a new mouse. Though it could be anything from a loose connection, old battery, or diry parts of the mouse or mouse pad. Check those things before just buying a new one, but it might be you need a new one anyway. Good luck.

It might be it's trying to read the lines on your mousepad causing it to misinterpet input - different pad might help....Good Luck !!

if it is a fancy mouse, you might have a sensitivity button. my uncle mouse will ejust to sensitivity, so the more sensitive it is set, the faster it will move around the screen, but if its not then I have no idea!
