Computer help!

I need some help with my computer, I had a dell toshiba and the computer store gave me the disk drive before I sent it away to get fixed. Point is the laptop is unfixable and they said I could put the disk drive into my home computer, it's a dell as...

well. Windows xp home edition, I know I have to put it in somehow...I just don't know how...help???

The disc drive? You're not specifying anything. You mean the Hard Disc Drive? Or is it just a regular CD/DVD Disc Drive? Because if it's the Hard Drive, then yeah, you can mount it as a slave drive and boom, there's all your old files, on your desktop. I assume this is what you mean, because I'm sure your CD/DVD drive isn't more special than the one that should all ready be in your desktop.
