Compaq and hp's?

Okay so my mom but an Hp officejet All-in-one printer/fax/scanner.. It was working kinda okay.. (it only printed). Then recently after my mom moved the computer and the all-in-one around. It put the all-in-one offline. when I put it back online it said...

it was ready. but when I went to print anything it'd say error. So I contacted the Hp support. Well all was going good. they told me to uninstall it all reinstall it all.. Which I did. I got every thing for it. Photosmart, Solution center, ect. But it doesnt Detect the stupid HP anymore.. So when I went back to the Hp support. They told me to connact the compaq support.. So I went to the compaq site. while I was looking for my product number. I saw that it kept saying Hp this Hp that..
So what the H E double Hocky sticks!..
so to sum it all up my question is...
If there the same comany then how come I had to go to the compaq support.?
BTW The All-in-one is still not working..-_-..

Hmm, sometimes HP and connpact don't know what they're talking about sometimes it seems like.
I would take the all in one machine to a shop and see if they can fix it. Or, try going back on the website to see what all you can do with it. Or, another thing, you can always send it back to the manufacture and see what they can do to fix that. Otherwise, I really don't know what else to tell you.
I can't imagine since I've never had any major problems with my HP laptop. Or, HP themselves.
