Community stats, it seems like they keep getting better :) thanks

Jeremy Goodrich yep, that's me Asked by thedude (Online now) about 1 year ago, 3 answers.

For a long while now, we've been monitoring various community stats. One of them that I've been keenly interested in is our active member count. It's now over 4,000...which might sound low, however, that's the number out of those who signed up *longer*...

than 90 days ago that have come back, in the last 90 days.

And our total active member count is more than 25,000, which is more than 20% of the total people that have signed up on FunAdvice, ever, in over five and a half years...while I always, personally want the numbers to go up to the right, it's nice to see them get better steadily.

So, thanks, and, what should our priority be? I have a lot on our list (as usual) and yes, I know, we take a while to get things done...however, is there a #1 fix we can do for you?

Actually there is one fix you can make. Correct me if im wrong but sometimes when you ask a question, it goes to the wrong category. Its an irritating problem

Other than that, this is a very friendly and informative website! Thx!

Congrats! happy I think the most prevalent problem I see here is people who have trouble receiving the confirmation email. It puts new members off sometimes. I don't know if this problem is fixable so that most email services automatically allow FunAdvice emails though...

Email = 3rd party issue, I hate to say it...for example, if everybody used gmail (from Google) instead of Hotmail, AOL, or Yahoo, we'd have zero issues.

*Every* issue we have is with those three, not with gmail. And, believe it or not, but we've put int a lot of hours in the last 6 months to improve the email situation, b/c I know it's frustrating for new members...but, not much luck, unfortunately.

Though, from a certain, anti competitive paranoid perspective, MSN, AOL, and Yahoo all offer competing services (free question / answer sites) Google is the only one that doesn't of those, in the US...they only have one in Russia China.

The auto categorization thing, agreed, it's been on the list for a long time. Hopefully in a few months...and, we do manually re-categorize things regularly, so it's hopefully not too painful happy
