Is this website really safe? Why do I have a strange feeling rapist and sexual perverts are lurking around?

Because teenage girls are posting pictures that would invite rapists, pedophiles, and other perverts?

Hi there-

We're not as large as other sites like myspace (we had about a million visitors last month...myspace gets 50+ million per month)...the good thing about that for us is it's easier to manage.

So, we review reports faster, respond to email personally, have report abuse links on site messages, profile comments, etc, you can block other members, you can turn off private messaging if you like, and if somebody breaks the rules, we nuke their account, typically in less than 24 hours.

Even on weekends wink The trouble with a very large site (say, Yahoo, or Myspace) is that because it's so huge, it gets to be 50x harder for them to ensure that weirdo's aren't hurting the community. It's something I take very seriously, and I personally review all the abuse reports we get (which are only a few per day).

And, if you believe there's something more we could do or should do to make the site better, safer, or more fun, please let me know.

even in Church

Sorry, but I have to respond to that one. Catholic priests have gone to jail over certain issues, and the current pope received a pardon from President Bush so he wouldn't be arrested tried in the US upon arrival due to his potential past involvement.

So, given the facts of past crimes, arrests, and convictions, I'd say FunAdvice is a billion times safer than any Catholic church - potentially any kind of church, but I only know of the lawsuits arrests involving the catholic priests.
