Why can't people just talk to each other?

Why can't people just talk to each other and work out their differneces, and ther will always be differences, you tell me ?

If people were all rational all the time and had no strong feelings on anything then this would be possible. As it is this Eutopian talk it out method of resolving conflict will always fall short when one of the sides decides to use other means to get their point across. Talk only goes so far until the words that are falling on deaf ears become angry yelling or violent behavior.

If you know your right then why listen. Smiting or screaming is so much more effective to show them the folly of their thoughts. I love humanity.
