I never heard that Pepsi is more of a northern drink and Coke more in the south.
When I lived in Michigan most of the people I knew prefered Coke though my in-laws who live in New England all like Pepsi better.
To me Pepsi is a little too sweet and lacks Coke's complexity. I like Mexican Coke better than US Coke because south of the boarder they use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup so the Mexican version isn't as sweet as Coke made in the US.
To me the best soda of all is Stewart's grape soda. Wonderful stuff, just wish it wasn't so darn expensive!
