Class differences

What you cryin for? You're a big girl now. Asked by ohsarah 2 months ago, 5 answers.

I was just wondering what the class differences are like in your country. The rich and poor divide.
Over here in England the divide is really obvious. You can tell even at school who's middle class and who's working. How do you find these classes manifest themselves where you live?

Around in the area I live in, you can't even tell who's rich or who's poor, yes everyone is in everyones business in my town, but they never know of someones financial ordeals. Like for me and my mom, you cannot tell that we are below the poverty line, but that is because I (I'm trying to) don't have a job, and my mother is disabled and can't work, she can walk, but she has back trouble and diabetes, but once I graduate I will get money (I'm native american), it all depends on the house and the clothing, not everyone can really tell who is trailer trash or living in luxary in my area, it's all about clothing and style, or something.

well I live in london
and yeah I agree its really obvious
although, where I live, in east london, there arent too many middle class people
mainly working class
east london has been mainly always working class.
I find that in london, there are divisions...e.g. a main area for middle class people - working class people found rarely in these areas. and main area for working class people - middle class people found rarely in those areas.

The majority of the population are middle class. With the (hahahaha) "help" of credit cards, who can tell who is rich and who is stealing expensive stuff with their plastic cards?

True...credit cards are crap! They put a lot of people in debt, I believe in straight up cash, and that is it! Haha!

It depends on where you live. Some towns, like mine, are mostly middle class while other towns are mostly upper class. The "divide" is not that obvious within each town. There are, however, housing projects where people of lower income live in my town. But you won't see those in the upper class towns!
