We need some X-mas decorating ideas...ones that we can just create in the comfort of our own home. We don't want fluffy rodolph frosty kind of things. We want a "rustic' sort of thing, I guess you could say. Just a more "beautiful" X-mas, but we dont know what to do. We don't have long till X-mas, & need ideas ASAP!!! Thanks to all who help.

Popcorn on strings or any type of colorful beads or bead-like objects are good to string on and up around the house. Craft paper snowflakes are easy to make. Glitter is always fun. And my all time favorite is stringing up money all over the place for a nice rich look.

I something that the white house had in their stuff this year .. little pine trees on the front porch and mantles. no decor on them but just miniature pines made from logs and fir branches. gingerbread men is rustic and definitely says x-mas. basic green swags are best with the red bows and white lights. paper chains in green and red are fun if you have kids or cranes and stars in origami paper folding. make nice ornaments. candles on tiers look nice and smell good. a sleigh full of mints or rumballs is kind of cute without being too kitchy.white paper stars with gold glitter glue piping and glowsticks in them can be hung from the ceiling and looks neat for a party. a red plaid or white lace tablecloth is holiday nice too.

You could make a paper chain using different colours to work as a garland, hang up some sweets instead of glass balls or with glass balls, use ring cookies , and make little bows to put up on the tree and instead of using glitter and stuff use some cotton wool as snow I am sure you could find some of these things in your house and you wouldnt have to even leave the comfort of your home! Also great to keep the kids busy and spend quality time with them. All the best and Merry Christmas!
