Good first aquarium fish are zebra danios and tiger barbs. These are cheap and attractive fish that are fairly hardy.
If you want a fish that is even lower maintenance try a betta. Bettas are air breathers so they don't require aeration and you only need to feed them every other day. Bettas are pretty but they are not very active and don't swim around much.
My favorite fish is the angelfish. The only problem here is that other fish tend to attack their long fins so they do best either among themselves or with very docile community fish.

Choosing fish
I'm going to get a fish tank (marine) and I'm wondering what fish I could keep. Interesting ones that I only have to feed twice a day.
