Chihuahua whelping

hey how are you. My chi is 55 days pregnant. She just went for her xray yesterday we are having 3 pups. since then I have noticed a small amount of clear discharge from her cooch. her temp is stil101.4 is she ok is this normal

She is not ready yet. 58 to 65 days is when the pups come. , Clear discharge can happen from 2 weeks on.

Do you have her puppy box ready and is she use to it? I think Chihuahua Moms have problems being good mothers because the owners treat them as babies and do not prepare them ahead of time to have pups.

She needs to be ready to be in her puppy box in a quite place about 2 weeks ahead of due date.

Her temp is normal, that is normal for a dog, it will drop a least two degrees before her pups come. Below a hundred, more like 98. something. She will refuse food and pant. She will have her puppies within 12 hours. Most likely when your are not watching, very tired or wanting to sleep.

There is a saying A Watched Dog Never Whelps But do keep an eye on her with out disturbing her too much.

Go to the library and see if they have a book on Whelping a litter or Chihuahuas, that cover one having pups. Your local library is full of Dog book information as is your computer. Do a search on Whelping a litter.
