Chihuahua puppies

I have a 5 pound pomchi and a female 14 pound chihuahua mixed with I dont no if they breed can she have problems having the pups.

the 5 lb pomchi mix is the male right ? 14 lb female ? Wow...I wish I could c a pic of her...she's huge, I doubt if she would have a problem having any pups natural...I take it that they already bred...count 63 days from the date she 1st hooked up, she should be due close to that date...hope this has helped...dichihuahua

I'm kind of wondering why you would want to mate two mixed breeds. The main purpose of breeding is to further the breed, and make it the best possible purebred dogs. Having them have puppies just for fun disregards the whole point, and also just adds to the current pet overpopulation problem.

Well said Editor. Breeding should ONLY be done by those who RESAERCH and know what they are doing. There are so many things that can go wrong and when breeding mixed breeds there are so outcomes that can be predicted as far as health and temperament goes.
Do not breed your dogs!!! You will be doing yourself and your female a huge favor by just enjoying the two you have!

Puppies are messy. It takes a lot of work to have puppies. I have to make several trips to the Vets. Puppies = money out the window. Birth is very messy and it stinks. It stains your carpet or furniture if you do not prepare for it and it sounds like most people here don't.

The Mom bleeds for a few weeks all over the place. Hopefully you will have a Mom that cleans her puppies but not all Moms do a good job. Also some of the doggie Moms won't want to go outside to potty or pee the first days after having a litter and will do it in your house.

As soon as you start feeding the puppies at 3 weeks or so depending on the breed. the Mom stops cleaning the puppies potty and guess what you get to. Than it is changing puppy papers or pads (expensive) many times a day, because you don't want your puppies getting in feces and pee all day. Your trash fills up with dirty newspaper or puppy pads. We are talking weeks now, if you are lucky to have homes for the little darlings. If you are not a good puppy trainer and not many people are puppies get out of the puppy box and pee and poop all over your house and you step in it.

Your bill for dog food doubles and you are buying two brands of dog food.

Now why would you want to breed your dogs?
