I tried out this year. last year I was the mascot...
So...yyyeah. NOW--I think it's...a sport..

apsulutly, if your active it is! just becuse your girls and you get to have your own sport doesnt mean that its not taken seriously...I hate those stereotypes.

It depends what kind of cheerleading to me.
Competitive cheerleading- yes most definitely, I was a competitive cheerleader for 4 years, it's hard.
cheerleading just for school football/basketball games, I wouldn't really consider that a sport.

A lot of people do underestimate cheerleading. To know how hard it actual is and what it really takes, you have to be one.

I feel the same way I got into an argument with a co-worker cause he think cheerleadin is a joke

cheerleadingg to me is a sport. but certain kinds. schoool cheerleadinggg is not a sport, which is why most guys think it isnt. anyone can stand on the sidelines and yell go team! yess, I did cheer for my school team last year I hated it. it was boring to me because I have beeen an all star cheerleader for 6 years now. all star cheerleading is very difficult. its more then say cheers and cheering on your team. when you competitive cheer, you are your only team. you dont cheer for your foootball team, or anythingg. its about you! cheerleadingg, is a sport and it pisses me off when my guy friends tell me it isnt. I've worked extremely hard over the years to get to wear I am. so yes, cheerleading is a sportt. but all stars, not schoool.

NO you really dont have to have any skill to do it except yelling loud and lifting your arms up and shaking pom-poms lol no offence or anything

That depends on the type of cheerleading.

Anyone can wave poms and say go team go, but when it comes to Allstar, you've definitely got a sport.

Not everyone can throw fulls or standing tucks, lift people their size into the air above their heads, or even get their legs 12 inches away from each other, not to mention up to their waist. I wonder how many people can survive 2 and a half minutes on a mat in front of hundreds WITHOUT coming off panting and trying to catch their breath

YES it is a sport. COMPETITION CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT! For those who don't think it is are probably rejects from cheer tryouts or people who are clueless to what it's even about.

Regardless, by definition, any activity involving competition and athleticism IS considered a SPORT.

I am a cheerleader and I think it is a sport.
but then again I dont think it is.

if we are just like clapping yelling and such. not thats not a sport.
but if you are like doing gymnastic moves. or stunting.
yeah that is a sport cause you need a lot of muscle and such to do all that.

omg if you dont think its a sport than leave it to yourself people always talk and say its not a sport then frigan try it for yourself!
