Checking profiles before adding

Just wondering and once again its something that just popped in my head. Do you check peoples profiles before adding them as a friend or do you just add them?

I just add em. or really most people add me.

I rarely add people as friends unless I have talked to them before or something on their profile is interesting to me - so yes I look at their profiles first.
