How do you exactly change the page of your websitelayout without changing the whole layout?

For example.. I have Blog pages 1.2.3.4 and I wanted to change the pages from one to another without changing the whole layout. Is it?

Save the file as a new file, eg, newpage.html instead of index.html, then modify it the way you'd like...unless I misread your question?
