my cat is smelly and dirty, he's lived outside the whole 16 years of his life and I love him how he is!! he HATES being indoors, and when he IS clean and prepped up like after a grooming session he looks kind of lame and he gets all pissy so he just runs around the dirt to get filthy again. so when it comes to kitties, I like 'em dirty, smelly, AND hairy! >:]

Cat's clean themselves. They rarely smell. And who shaves their cat? This question of yours leads me to think your referring to something besides a cat. In which case, clean and trimmed or shaved. Definitely not hairy.
