Cartilage piercing

Asked by meg42069 9 months ago, 1 answer.

I'm 24 and want to get mine done. It will be my first cartilage piercing, although I have my ear lobes pierced, tongue, marilyn and belly button done. Is Claire's a better place to get it done than let's say Piercing Pagoda? I have heard it's not...

recommended to get it done with a gun too, but on the PP's website they say that's it's completely safe, and explain how a cartilage piercing differs from a regular ear lobe piercing too. If it wasn't safe I highly doubt they'd not only do it that way there, or have it on their website at all either. So my question is what is less painful earring wise- a metal stud (like a barbell) or a loop for first-timers?

1) Don't get it done with a gun
2) I don't suggest Claires, go to an actual piercing studio
3) Pain wise - it completely depends on your pain tolerance. For me it was more pain than I expected, more than my others (even my lip when I had it).
