It's cartillage, it's gonna hurt more then a normal lobe piercing...
Chances are your not gonna be able to sleep or touch it without it hurting for about 1months...
Uhmm as for the infection, I dunno, do you have greenish looking discharge coming from it, is it swollen...?
2-3times a day is great, but what are you cleaning it with?
Hopefully u have a ring in instead of a stud. But its going to hurt for atleast a month, dont clean it with rubbing alcohol. That will prevent from heatlhly cells to grow and the hole to heal try using contact solution. And after the shower, make sure theres so shampoo or any other cleaning products on the hole or ring/stud.
the cartiledge piercing does usually hurt a few days after you pierce it. When I got mine, it felt super hot, and hurt if I layed on it or even touched it, and if I accidently hit it, it would throb. I think as long as it isnt bleeding or oozing anything and you keep it clean it should be fine. It is going to be sore for a few weeks
I have mi ear cartilage piercing done 2 and had it done with a needle and when I gt it pierced it was fine , it was when the lady was putting the sleeper through that it hurt...getting back 2 the 4 day pain , I had pain with it 2...sleeping iz the 1 I found most painfull as you 4gt you have the piecring and realise the next morning you sleep on that ear and you wake up with your ear hurting...touching it can b painfull 2 as your ear iz gting used 2 the pain still...more then likely it wont b infected as your only mentioning pain and your cleaning it on a regular basis , the pain should go away in a week or two...u will know if its infected because it will be crusty and pus will b around it...
its normal.
I pierced my own cartiledge almost a year ago and the first week or week and a half it was red and VERY sensitive. it hurt so much at the slightest touch and when I slept on it.
I did it with just the actual earring not the needle.
but just give it time. keep cleaning it and if you notice that its not getting better in a couple weeks and it looks real swollen and there is pus then it is infected.
but for right now, just wait and see. but keep cleaning it.

Cartilage piercing
Well I just got my cartilage piercing done by my friend, which I know is not the best way, but we used a needle and cleaned it before we used it, and she's pierced my ear before so I knew it would be okay.
When she pierced it herself, it didn't hurt all...
that much.
But its been 4 days now, and it hurts a lot!
When I touch it, or sleep on it, or anything.
Is this normal?
Is it infected?
PS: I clean it 2-3 times daily.
