well real ones no , fake ones yes...
I can't have a Christmas tree without Candy Canes. Just not Christmas without the Candy Canes on the tree. The Grandkids eat them after Christmas if I can keep them out of the tree before that.
Yes Candy Canes are a must!
You can if you want to. I don't, but then again I don't like peppermint... or candycanes...
Hummm you don't look like a candy person, that is for sure!
* ahem *
I LOVE CANDY! Just not peppermint, or candy canes. They're messy, they splinter easily, several canes in a box are already broken. Some of them are shrink wrapped so tight, you can't get all the plastic off.
I just don't lke them...
I'm trying to figure out what this has to do with religion? Please enlighten me. . .
Nothing... unless there is some Southern Baptist Christian denomination that thinks candy canes are evil... which wouldn't suprise me...
Personally I wouldn't.. I don't like candy canes for the same reasons captainassassin gave... plus they will probably attract ants.
Yes, I put candycanes on my christmas tree real ones too.
She does like candy canes on christmas trees. I, on the other hand, do not. I had actually never heard of it efore this year, but I don't care. I agree, candy canes are yummy, but they are food? would you hand... lets say... celery on the christmas tree? I don't think so.
Oh, and candy canes are apparently religious because a myth has gone around that a candymaker in Indiana wanted to signify the birth, ministry and death of Jesus Christ with a candy... well, as I said, being a myth, it is not true.
When I worked in a Christian preschool, they talked about a candymaker who made an upside down "J" for Jesus, and used red to signify blood for the unity of mankind. Not sure if I personally believe it, but anywho...
Candy canes weren't put on the tree in my house when I grew up. My mum would put them in these long parfait glasses around the house. I used to like sucking a candy cane into a sharp point, and poking people with it... violent child I was...
They have other food on the christmas tree. Popcorn on string, chocolate in cute little packages. Also, it makes the tree look pretty.
Yeahh because thats the way the people back then wanted it to be and its pretty kewl...I wish they had starburst flavored
