Can you remember smells?

can you remember smells?
I know that sounds mental but I can remember smells, I will smell something and smell it later even tho im no where near the thing that smelled!
I know that sounds crazy, but can anyone remember smells

This can indicate abnormal brain activity, like when they touch a part of an exposed brain and the sensory effect is to trigger neural impulses that perhaps inform another part of the brain of a smell memory (I cannot remember the specifics of the psychology experiment). There could be some inflammation of the lining of your brain or a tumour. This is serious information that requires you see your doctor for diagnostics. It is not necessarily a mental or physical condition since there could be a side effect from medications I guess, do not panic, it is not impossible that it be normal given your situation of recent stress.

Well I can't remeber them in the same way that you describe, but their has been times when I've smelt something around me and it'll bring out a nostagic/opposit effect. It usually takes me a while, but I'll be thinking where I've smellt that smell for a while, and eventually, I'll remember what I've linked it to. Fo0r examaple, last time this happend to me, was when mum bought a new soap for the shower. When I was washing my self with this soap, it smeelt very familiar and mad me kind of happy. I thought about where I'd smellt it before, and eventually I realised that, that smell must have been around when I was dating my x girlfriend, and thus concluded that mum had bought the same type of soap earlier that year.
