Can't send me funmail?

Is there an age limit on funmail or something? because I get funmail from people but someone just told me that they tried to funmail me but they couldnt because I was under 14. is there something prohibiting people over a certain age? I don't get it.

if your underage, then you have to add people who are over 18 as friends before you can send them fun mail. Very simple precaution to help make sure people aren't taken advantage of.
