Can someone provide a diagnosis?

headshot taken before I realized I had no place to use it. Asked by jillybean 5 months ago, 9 answers.

Okay, so last night my throat was starting to feeling scratchy and I woke up tired and achy, but still sort of able to function. I had a sore throat and had a cough that came more from my chest. Now, much later in the day (so late, it's basically morning) I've developed mild chills and the soreness in my throat sort of dissipated. Now I have this awful, gunky cough. It's difficult to breathe without coughing, and the cough really really hurts. My boyfriend just got over the flu and has been coughing all over me, so that was my first guess, but I'm not really sure now? What do you guys think? I have to know what it is before I know how to make it better, after all.
hugs,
Jill

It sounds to be like you could be catching strept throat, which is contagious. The best thing for you to do would be to go get it checked out before it gets worse. You need to be put on some antibiotics from the sounds of it.

I'm not a doctor, although I play one on the internet. My diagnosis is bronchitis. Please send me $150.

But my chest hurts more than my throat does. Isnt strep throat generally confined to the throat?

That's why I diagnosed it as bronchitis. In any case you should see a real doctor.

Heh, I was responding to the other answer before. I was thinking bronchitis too. Thanks for the input.

I said strept because when it gets bad enough it can cause pains in the chest. I'm sure it could be several different things. A doctor would know best though obviously.

Could be a chest infection, (yes can start with a sore throat), may be viral, may be bacterial, unless you get sick enough times to know the difference, you may need to go the dr. If things get worse it is probably bacterial and you need to go to a doctor to get antibiotics.
