Can parents legally take money away from their kids?

Asked by ipwnedinferno over 2 years ago, 2 answers.

I just want to know if it is legal for a parent to take their child's money away from them, either as a punishment or just to get it.

If you're a minor, I would think everything concerning you falls under the parents pervue/jurisdiction....they are ultimately responsible for you and your actions....if you damage your neighbors car with a hammer, who pays ? $$....the parents....I suppose if you wanted to pursue a police report on the matter, you could, but I don't know if you could prevail if pressed....probably make matters much worse (heighten resentment/ill feelings).....I hope all of you will work together to improve your home environment, good luck.
