well what did you start with? tap or bottled... right now I have a lil of both but I have been running my filter for 2 days before I get fish.
if you have used tap then stick to tap but if you dont trust your tap water use bottled. try tap and get some of the water purifying solution at your local pet store.
fresh or salt water fish??
Laura
Well the truth is that if you have bottled water that has sodium in it that no you shouldn't use that kind of bottled water. If you have something like fiji water then you will be fine. For a much much cheaper way of treating your water, take tap water and treat it with something like Aquasafe by tetraAqua what it does is when you add it to tap water it will neutralize chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals that are harmful and fatal to fish. It will also enhance the slim coat on your fish to help protect them and it works in a matter of seconds rather then days.
If you have a very small tank, like a Betta bowl, that's less then 3 gallons you can get the gallon size jug of distilled water for I think about 70 Cents a gallon.
If you have more questions regarding anything that is related to fish care then I say check this site out.
