Can i ignore the decision my friend made?

me hehe Asked by nothingness about 1 year ago, 2 answers.

Ok here's the dealio,

First we have to go back a couple of months ago. Something horrible was written about one of my friends on a toilet wall. It basically said that she was a tart and was pregnant. She was upset for days and I as well as the rest of...

the school, just thought it was a nasty rumour being spread by some jealous sado.

BUT...

A couple of days ago, the girls best friend accidently let slip that it was all true. The girl had got pregnant (at 13 might I add) and had also had an abortion. The worst thing about it all is that her mother doesn't even know!

How can I stay friends with her or at least be civil toward her, when I totally disaggree with the situation she got herself into and how she handled it!?

Advice please!!!

It's her situation, not yours. You had nothing to do with it. Don't stop being friend with someone just because of a choice they make. Everyone has different opinions. Let's be in her shoes for a second, how would you feel if you had an abortion and everyone stopped being your friends? You wouldn't. I don't agree at all with abortions, but you also don't know why she did it. She could have been raped, you don't know what her parents would have though, she was also probably thinking about the baby and trying to do the best for it. She is 13, give her a break. If you stop being friends with her because of something that was her decission, thats pretty messed up on your part. Think long and hard before you go do something you will probably regret. Who knows, she might be the best friend you have ever had, the most loyal, the one that stuck around you. You might be in the same situation one day and then you will feel horrible for ditching her like that.

Don't listen to hxc. She's basically saying you have to be friends with someone even if they do something you disagree with. That's like saying you need to be friends with a murderer. Oh wait, it's exactly like that, she killed a baby.
