Go to a department store and get a make-up consultation session for free from either MAC or MaXfactor (both are really good for make-up) and they will make you over in the way that your skin and feature need and then give you the chance to buy what they used on you so if you like how it looks you can get it, and if you don't, you haven't wasted money! Differnet types of skin need different types of make-up ie. if you have really hydrated skin you can use mousse or even just powder however most people need a liquid one or else the make-up can go flakey. Also get a good SPF15 moisturiser as a base for your foundation. Also, never try to use your foundation to cover-up blemishes-get a good concealer to do that!
Hope this helped x
